In the dormitory, how can I check and pay for electricity and water?
There is an official account on WeChat called Upay, which enables you to check the balance of your campus card, electricity and water. The option to top-up is also available on this account. Search for '宁诺小Upay' in the WeChat search bar and add the account. Through this account, you can also order for service or repair should circumstances occur in your dorm. Further information will be provided about Upay once you arrive.

Electronics, especially phones and laptops, are available in most shopping malls around Ningbo - as well as in Tianyi Square. However, when it comes to repairs, most repair services are only available in Tianyi Square.

There are many forms of transportation that are available in China.
From the airport, you can acquire a taxi and give the address of the University to the taxi driver.
Some of the most convenient ways to get around the city also include calling for a Didi, waiting for the bus or renting a bicycle using your Alipay account.
Taking the bus around the city would only cost you 2RMB, but it will cost less if you acquire a bus card. Riding a bicycle is also convenient, as it inexpensive and environmentally friendly! These bicycles are easily found scattered across the city.

In regards to an application for a Residence Permit, the University supports students during the application form. In terms of health check, the University will inform you about the exact date and time when all international students applying for an X1 visa will go for examinations. After receiving health check results and successfully submitting other relevant documents to the school staff, there will be an opportunity to go with a University staff to finally apply for a Residence Permit. After you receive information that your passport is ready to collect (with the Residence Permit), you must go to the application centre in order to collect your passport.

On campus there are some mobile phone stores which provide SIM cards and other technical support. Moreover, during the first week of an academic year, as well as the second semester, there will be booths on Roller Square where you can easily obtain a mobile SIM card.

During the first week of an academic year and the second semester, staff from the Bank of China visit UNNC to support international students in setting up a Chinese bank account. During this process, please remember to take your passport with you. For bank enquiries, the closest Bank of China branch is located in Sunday Plaza (a 10-minute walk from campus).
